Subject Habitat protection, Birds of Prey

Region Lisboa

In project LIFE LxAquila, we aim to bring together local communities, authorities and specialists to protect Bonelli’s Eagles which, in the Lisbon metropolitan area, live extraordinarily close to people.

Objectives

  • To create a stewardship network comprising land managers and users, be they private or public entities (e.g. local and regional administration, land-owners, hunting associations, forestry managers and recreational associations) who will be guardians of the region’s natural values, and in particular of Bonelli’s Eagles

  • To demonstrate that predator conservation and human activities are compatible
