During the month of November, we invite you to search for Rose-ringed Parakeets in the evenings. Popular as pets, the parakeets which can now be found loose in several Portuguese cities are probably animals which escaped from captivity, or their descendants. To ascertain whether parakeet populations are growing and expanding, we’ve launched this citizen science initiative, which will provide important information for the national Rose-ringed Parakeet census which will be carried out this winter.
